Jemison Elementary School Counselors
The counselors work with students to help them develop academically, personally, and socially. Opportunities are also provided for students to explore future careers. Both counselors conduct classes for our students to learn good study skills, conflict resolution and ways to handle peer pressure, feelings, and safety issues. Small groups assist students with similar goals and objectives. Individual counseling will be available to help students plan ways to handle problems, set goals, and overcome difficulties. School Counselors do not have the time for more in-depth therapy sessions but work with students on school and adjustment issues.
Parents may contact the counselors to set up a time to discuss concerns about their children. We may have some helpful suggestions or written material that will solve the problem.
